BML WoW Kidz Run is the biggest run held for kids in the Maldives, with over 900 kids in participation last year.
This year with 1,200 spots open for registration, BML WoW Kidz Run will be bigger and better. The run will be held on 27th April in Hulhumale' and we are delighted to announce that kids can use the fundraising platform to give back to the society.
About the Fundraising Platform
The fundraising platform for the BML WoW Kidz Run is a great way to involve children, their families and friends to raise funds to help beat bullying by joining hands with ARC and supporting the cause.
Through this platform, a fundraising page can be created for each registered participant to raise up to MVR 2,000. Friends and family members can make a donation to sponsor the child’s run and help them raise funds, and the profile page can be shared on Facebook and Twitter for more people to join in.
The funds raised from the BML WoW Kidz Run platform will be used for the nationwide awareness programme 'Beat Bullying' by ARC in partnership with Bank of Maldives, to promote kindness, tolerance and respect. Through different activities for children, parents and teachers, the Beat Bullying programme aims to help build safer and more caring communities for children.
All funds raised from this platform will go towards the charitable initiatives of Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC).
Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization registered in December 2009. With a mission to protect and promote the rights and well-being of children of Maldives, ARC hopes to be the voice of children in the country, advocating for their health, safety, education and well being. ARC’s main areas of work include working closely with children’s shelters, advocacy and raising awareness on the rights of children through national and international outreach
The funds raised from this year’s BML WoW Kidz Run will go towards an awareness program to beat bullying. The program is targeted for school children, parents and teachers and will create awareness on the importance of combating physical, verbal, social and emotional bullying through various awareness videos, mini documentaries, poster competitions and kindness activities.
The aim of the program is to promote kindness and respect among children to help create safe and more caring communities.
