Beware of Phishing.
May 18, 2011
Your security is one of our primary concerns as such we continue to remind you to beware and take measures to protect your information.
Phishing is a form of fraud designed to steal your identity. It works by using false pretenses to get you to disclose sensitive personal information, such as credit and debit card numbers, account passwords. One of the most common phishing scams involves sending a fraudulent email.
Phishing is a very common form of fraud and it is not due to lack of security measures in the website or product. We have noticed that our Maldives Internet Banking customers from time to time receive such phishing emails. The purpose is to gain access to username, password and security codes and using this information to conduct fraudulent transactions.
Therefore we would like our customers to be aware of such phishing emails and ensure that you are careful when using the service. Please refer to our security page available on the Bank’s website (link here) for measures to protect yourself.
We assure you our products and website is developed with the highest security standard measures.
