Bank of Maldives is the market leader of this industry in Maldives with possession of a substantial share of the market and the largest merchant base along with the largest ATM network covering all the atolls. We provide acquiring service to all tourist resorts, businesses and service establishments while handling the major share of the Visa, MasterCard and all American Express inbound transactions. Bank of Maldives PLC is the exclusive acquirer and issuer for American Express cards.
Our ATMs are capable of accepting Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, Cirrus, American Express and Plus. At Bank of Maldives ATMs you can withdraw cash, transfer money between your own accounts, check balances, get mini statements, pay your bills (BillPay), get prepaid recharge vouchers. BillPAY service through ATM is only available to those customers who are registered for Maldives Internet Banking.
The Bank aspires to minimize the usage of cash and make the Maldives a cashless society. In 2001, the Bank issued the first locally accepted Cash Cards. The years that followed saw the issuance of internationally accepted Visa Debit Cards, which turned out to be a huge success among our customers.
