BANK OF MALDIVES DISBURSES PENSIONS TO ACCOUNTS
Bank of Maldives Plc. 08 March 2010 – Bank of Maldives announced today that in accordance with the agreement with Maldives Pension Administrative Office (MPAO) Bank of Maldives has completed disbursing the first batch of pensions to the relevant accounts. Ms. Fathimath Manike, AGM said “pension to all 8,887 accounts has been disbursed”.
When approached by Maldives Pension Administrative Office Bank of Maldives undertook this venture with the aim of providing assistance to the government in disbursing pensions in a smooth manner and to contribute to the society. Bank of Maldives took the initiative to help many of the old age pensioners to open accounts. “Our staff visited customers who resided in the islands during our mobile trips and assisted them in opening their accounts. To those who were not able to visit the branch for various reasons we provided personalized service by having our staff visit their homes and assist them to open accounts” said Ms. Fathimath Manike, AGM of the Bank.
The Maldives Pension Administrative Office thanked Bank of Maldives for their immense contribution in assisting the government. Mr. Hassan Ziyath, Director Finance & Administration said “We acknowledge and extend our sincere appreciation for the support given by Bank of Maldives”.
